The south end of Southern Highlands, in the proximity of the golf course, is guard gated. There are three guard gates, but once inside any of them you have access all with the exception of Vintage Valley which has another electronic gate. Above I have listed all the sub-communities inside these gates.
By my estimates, just over 350 homes have been completed. Home sizes range from 1,901 sq. ft (Resort Villas) to 19,116 sq. ft. (Estates).Fist homes were completed in 2001. Christopher Homes built the production homes in the Christopher Homes Collections as well as in Resort Villas. All the other sub-communities feature custom homes. New custom homes and lots are available as well as all the resale options.
The Southern Highlands Golf and Country Club is an equity membership club and one of the most expensive in the area. The golf course is a real beauty and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr. – one of four courses in the world that can make that claim.
The infrastructure is well in place. The commute to the airport and the center of the strip is convenient, probably no more than 15 to 20 minutes. Frias Elementary School is less than one mile away as is the Smith’s Food and Drug Center with several shopping options, including Costco just down St. Rose Parkway.
